Israeli Regulator Shut Down Crypto Exchange Bitin and Fined It $460K
The Israeli financial regulatory authority has ordered the immediate closure of cryptocurrency exchange Bitin, as it operates without a licence in the country. Furthermore, the platform’s operator also faces a financial sanction of about 1.7 million shekels (US$460,000). The action against Bitin was taken under an order issued by the Commissioner of Capital Markets, Insurance, and Savings, Amit Gal. Although the Bitin website remains live, Finance Magnates verified that crypto buying and selling services on its platform have stopped working. Bitin offered buying and selling services for many cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Ripple (XRP).
Telegram Crypto Wallet Adds Litecoin Support for Non-U.S. Users
Telegram has added Litecoin (LTC) support for all non-U.S. users in its internal crypto wallet. The wallet allows users to buy, sell, and transfer crypto directly on Telegram. Litecoin, currently the 24th largest cryptocurrency with a market cap of $7.1 billion, joins other top coins such as Bitcoin (BTC), Toncoin (TON), and Tether (USDT) in being accessible to potentially 1 billion of Telegram’s monthly active users.
